Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Substitute Kitchen Helper to support our school food service program on an as-needed basis. You will assist with food preparation, serving students, and maintaining a clean kitchen across various school locations.

This flexible role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to adapt to different sites. We offer a path to gain experience in school nutrition, with opportunities to contribute to positive student experiences and meals.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis across multiple school locations.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with team and supervisors.
• Dependability and integrity in supporting meal service every shift.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, bending, and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at school kitchens when team members are out to ensure meal service continues.
• Help prep and serve menu items, stock station, and follow serving guidelines.
• Follow simple recipes, assist with production, and maintain clean storage and kitchen areas using FIFO.
• Maintain food safety and comply with basic logs and production records.
• Communicate supply needs and updates to team and supervisors.
• Stock and serve items during meal service and assist with prep lists and freezer pulls.
• Adapt to different school locations, teams, and kitchen environments as needed.
• Jump in to help teammates and train new staff as required.
