Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. is hiring a dependable Kitchen Helper/Cashier for the Storm Lake community school program. You will prepare and serve meals, operate the POS system, and assist with inventory and safety procedures.

This on-site role blends kitchen support with cashier responsibilities in a student-focused setting. The position offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with opportunities to contribute to a welcoming dining experience, maintain safety standards, and support lunch service

Qualifications

Strong communication and customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills and comfort using a POS system.
Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and handle dishes.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Help prep and serve menu items, keep station stocked, and follow serving-size guidelines.
Operate the POS system and accurately process student meal transactions.
Follow recipes and maintain cleanliness using FIFO.
Maintain food safety, complete basic logs, and assist with production records.
Follow cash handling procedures and balance daily transactions.
Communicate supply needs and feedback to team and supervisors.
Stock and serve items during meal service and assist with prep lists.
Create a friendly, welcoming environment for students and staff.
