Job summary

This on-site position will work in Laredo, TX and lead a fleet of truck drivers, ensuring DOT compliance, company policy, performance and retention. Daily interaction with the customer is required, and the role emphasizes relationship management with key contacts.

Responsibilities include supervising and developing a strong team, planning loads, coordinating routes, ensuring safety, and handling payroll and billing while using transportation management systems in near real-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of recent supervisory experience in transportation or similar industry/work environment.
• Experience leading, communicating change and developing a team strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, counseling, appraising and rewarding.
• Manage driver performance and activities, schedule work, plan and distribute to avoid DOT hours violations.
• Develop daily delivery plans and organize transportation for assigned customers to maximize profitability and satisfaction.
• Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems with customers, drivers and other locations.
• Perform payroll, billing, driver counseling and post-accident reviews using TMS data.
