Job summary

Partnership Employment in Cleveland, OH is seeking a hands-on Controller/Assistant Controller to own the accounting function end to end and lead a team of accountants and billers.

The role centers on migrating from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct, driving process improvements, GAAP reporting, internal controls, and partnering with operations on revenue recognition.

This on-site, full-time position offers ownership beyond a traditional accounting role in a fast-paced healthcare services company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of public and/or private accounting experience.
• Healthcare services industry experience required; NEMT or payor revenue experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with Sage 50, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks Online.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and prepare financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and healthcare reporting standards.
• Lead and develop the accounting team — accountants and billers.
• Oversee AR, AP, payroll, treasury, lease accounting, and fixed assets.
• Partner with operations on revenue recognition, billing data, invoicing, and cash collections.
• Support migration from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct, including data integrity and COA design.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements post acquisitions.
• Develop and report on KPIs; support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
