Job summary

Sammons Warehouse Solutions is hiring a Technician 1 to diagnose, repair, and maintain material handling equipment at the shop and customer sites. You’ll apply strong mechanical know-how and safety-first judgment to keep customers moving.

You will perform preventive maintenance, document service work, and support team efforts while meeting DOT and OSHA safety requirements. This is an on-site role with ESOP and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of forklift repair or related industry experience.
• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; mechanical or trade school training and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are preferred.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform hands-on work safely; welding or fabrication experience is a plus. Certification on at least 65% of the Briggs Equipment product line is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, drive systems, and lifting systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections, identify potential problems and safety concerns, and complete basic welding or fabrication work when needed.
• Put safety first on every job by properly securing equipment, following company procedures, and maintaining compliance with applicable DOT, OSHA, and other safety requirements.
• Keep accurate service records, maintain necessary parts and supplies, care for your company vehicle, complete required training and certifications, and support the team wherever needed.
