Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking an on-site technician to support customer locations with first-level technical and administrative tasks in a manufacturing environment. You will collect, analyze, test and record machine samples, maintain coolant filters and lab equipment, and assist with routine maintenance under supervision.

This day shift role operates on a 4 on/4 off rotating schedule, includes weekends and holidays, and requires strict adherence to EH&S policies, data entry into site software, and

• Perform bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems.
• Assist in the maintenance of coolant filters, washers, paint systems, air handling systems, etc., for sump changes and cleaning.
• Enter data for daily results into site software program.
• Assist in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, glassware, incubators).
• Support site staff with organization initiatives (inventory, labeling, storage).
• Follow EH&S standards and company policies; work under Site Manager supervision.

Follows standard procedures and has readily available supervision or management.Job DescriptionOn-site at customer location daily4on/4off rotating schedule, day shift, weekends and holidays includedWhat will you doAssist in the collection, analysis, testing and recording of machine samples, as directed.Perform bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems.Assist in the maintenance of coolant filters, washers, paint systems, air handling systems, etc. for sump changes and cleaning, as required to keep fluids within proper limits under the direction of Site Manager.Participate in addition of chemicals; including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners and biocides as directed by site staff.Enter data for daily results into site software program.Assist in properly maintaining tools and utility equipment such as pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers, etc., in a safe and efficient manner.Assist in routine maintenance on all above equipment and fluid systems including product additions, filter changes, sump cleaning, etc., as directed.Assist in disposal of contaminated articles (i.e. pails, gloves, samples, etc.) in accordance with prescribed measures, including waste management and recycling initiatives.Assist in maintaining and calibrating all laboratory equipment; such as scales, pH meters, glassware, incubators, etc. in accordance with site control plan.Has responsibility for general cleaning of oil storage rooms, laboratory, equipment and areas of the production floor (i.e. chipping, mopping, sweeping, emptying trash, etc.).Supports site staff general organization initiatives (inventory, storage rooms, labeling, etc.)Comply with all Company Policies: to include but not limited to Code of Conduct and expense reporting, etc.Ownership of individual development plan (IDP) as agreed upon with direct line manager.Work EnvironmentDaily work onsite at customer sites/laboratoriesMaintain the highest EH&S standards of all sites visitedAbout UsAt Quaker Houghton, we are experts in the development, production and application of industrial process fluids, lubricants and coatings for the manufacturing industry.
