Job summary

Quaker Houghton PA, Inc. is seeking an entry-level production operator to follow batch sheets, operate equipment and support 12-hour night shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule.

You will unload raw materials, prepare vessels, fill containers, and ensure accurate documentation in JDE for on-time production. You will label, palletize and ship products, load/unload various transport modes, maintain a clean work area, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret batch sheets, SOPs and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment in a safe, efficient manner and in accordance with training and work instructions.
  • Prepare mixing vessels, pumps, and hoses for unloading; inspect containers for cleanliness and integrity.
  • Fill containers per batch tickets, label, palletize and wrap for shipment; complete work orders in JDE.
  • Store and stage inventory; assist in tracking material inventory and perform counts.
  • Load/unload box trucks, flatbeds, tanker trucks, and rail cars; move materials with or without equipment.
  • Complete shipping duties in JDE, initiate shipments, and communicate delays to OTC; arrange UPS and FedEx shipments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and report spills or leaks; participate in site safety initiatives.
  • Operate forklifts and other motorized equipment safely; support safety and quality procedures.

Job SummaryResponsible for following manufacturing instructions to perform production and shipping related duties to ensure on-time production and shipment of product while adhering to high standards of quality, safety and customer service.Job DescriptionThe facility is moving to a 24/7 shift schedule, where you will be required to work 12 hour NIGHT shifts with a 2-2-3 schedule.Operates production equipment in a manner consistent with training and work instructions to ensure safety and the highest level of product quality.Prepares mixing vessels, necessary pumps and hoses for unloading. Inspects all containers prior to filling for cleanliness and integrity.Fills containers as prescribed in the associated batch ticket, pick ticket, and or export order sheet and prepares containers for shipment including labelling, palletizing and wrapping and completes work orders in JDE.Maintains neat, thorough and correct completion of all batch related documentation. Calculates batch yields and responds appropriately.Store and stage inventory in assigned areas for batch preparation, further processing and/or shipping.Assist in tracking material inventory and performing inventory counts, make inventory transfers in JDE.Loads and unloads box trucks and flat-beds, tanker trucks and rail cars, either manually or using proper material handling equipment.Load containerized and bulk raw materials to production vessels.Complete shipping responsibilities including; receive PO’s in JDE, ship items in JDE, communicate late shipments to OTC group, Prepare UPS and FedEx shipments and call trucks for shipment.Maintains a clean and organized work area and strictly adheres to all plant safety policies.Provides immediate containment, reporting and clean-up/recovery of spilled material or leaks. Operates all types of Forklifts and other related motorized vehicles in a safe and proficient manner.Holds team members accountable for safety and quality procedures. Routinely participate in site safety committee.Assists in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints. Others duties as assigned; Responsibilities may vary by work locationTo be responsible for the correct execution of activities of the plant following the different processes and instructions and complying with the established indications/normsEnsure proper labelling and packaging of the different finished products according to processes and instructionsCollect samples of the products to be analyzed in the laboratory.Responsible for the order, cleanliness and correct use and maintenance of the equipmentHandle ForkliftsSegregate waste in accordance with established proceduresApply and comply with safety regulations and instructions.To highlight any potential health and safety or accident issues to the Production Supervisor or ManagerTeamwork, promoting a good atmosphere and through actions that generate added value and when they are required support in other areasWork Environment/EHS/Physical Demands:Will work in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.The associate is exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock and trip and slip hazards.The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud.Ability to lift bags and other containers up to 50 pounds in a safe manner as directed.Ability to move drums up to 500 pounds with mechanical equipment in a safe manner as directed.May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily.May be required to work in small spaces and high locations.What do we look for?High school diploma or equivalent preferred.This position is the entry level for a new production employee with 0-1 year of experience. 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.Ability to read, analyze and interpret batch sheets, SOPs and work instructionsPositive team oriented attitudeReliable attendanceDemonstrate basic mathematical skills.
