Job summary

Powers & Sons Construction in the Greater Chicago Area is hiring a Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on our commercial, institutional, and multifamily projects. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site logistics, and deliver quality work from mobilization through closeout.

Collaborating with the Project Manager, you will plan ahead, enforce safety, review drawings and submittals, track commitments, and maintain detailed daily reports and photos.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in superintendent role on commercial, institutional, or multifamily projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple subs and building systems to substantial completion and closeout.
• Strong knowledge of sequencing, site logistics, drawings, specifications, and QC.
• Ability to build practical work plans, identify constraints, and hold teams accountable.
• Lead site safety program and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations coordinating subs, trades, deliveries, equipment, and logistics.
• Establish and enforce project safety expectations and address hazards.
• Develop short-term look-ahead schedules aligned with the master schedule.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and track commitments.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, and RFIs to identify conflicts.
• Coordinate MEP work across trades.
• Maintain daily reports, progress photos, manpower records, and field condition docs.
• Support Project Manager to address schedule risks, scope changes, and costs.
