Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician II to perform on-site service, installation, diagnostics and repairs on hydraulic systems and related equipment at customer sites. The role includes preventative maintenance, technical support, and occasional project leadership in the field.

Typically requiring a technical degree with 3–5 years of related experience, the position emphasizes strong communication with customers and teams, safety, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
• Ability to operate shop equipment safely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work effectively with customers, peers and management to resolve client issues.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-site services for new and existing clients, including emergency repairs and upgrades on a 24/7 on-call basis.
• Installs, diagnoses, repairs and supports equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnoses problems, documents findings and decides on repairs or part replacement.
• Analyzes product implementations and modifications per customer specs.
• Keeps customers informed on service status and suggests enhancements or repairs.
• Works under supervision and follows guidelines for moderately complex repairs and installations.
• Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Provides technical support and training on system operation and maintenance.
• Communicates technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assists less experienced technicians and may lead small projects at customer sites.
