Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site service, diagnostics, repairs and installation of hydraulic and related equipment at customer sites in Petersburg, IN.

The role requires a technical degree and up to three years of related experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers under supervision. Candidates should be able to lift heavy objects and work in variable environments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a technical degree and 0–3 years of related experience.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work effectively with customers, peers and management to resolve client issues.
• Physical requirements: push/pull up to 100 lbs, lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-site services for new and existing clients, including on-site emergency repairs and upgrades on a 24/7 on-call basis.
• Responsible for installation, diagnostics, repair and support for equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose problems, assess extent, document findings, and decide on repairs or part replacement.
• Provide technical analysis of product implementations and modifications per customer specs.
• Inform customers of service status and recommend system enhancements or repairs.
• Follow guidelines to perform moderately complex repairs and installations under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with local/national regulations and Motion's safety standards.
• Provide technical training and support to customers on system operation.
