Velocity Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer based in Colorado to support project execution on various job sites. This role involves interpreting plans, tracking materials, and ensuring job site safety. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and have a proactive approach to solving real-time challenges in the water-focused heavy civil industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Understanding of surveying, site layout, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills—comfortable working with field crews, project managers, and stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset—able to adapt quickly, ask the right questions, and solve problems in the moment.
• Bonus if you have experience on water or wastewater infrastructure projects!

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs to forecast material needs.
• Track and inventory materials delivered to job sites.
• Assist with layout and site setup for equipment and infrastructure installation.
• Work with the Superintendent to develop safe and efficient installation strategies.
• Enter and maintain daily logs, including weather conditions, progress photos, and equipment reports.
• Lead or assist in weekly toolbox talks—including documentation and signoffs with subcontractors.
