Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Field Engineer for a heavy civil construction project in Los Gatos, CA. You will support on-site field operations for the Rinconada Water Treatment Plant upgrade, including coordination of engineering plans, surveys, and daily site activities.

Work involves safety oversight, plan interpretation, and collaboration with craft teams to ensure quality and schedule adherence. Travel/relocation may be required as project needs evolve.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' construction field experience in heavy civil projects.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong safety commitment and proactive work ethic.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity inspections by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work
• Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with craft and staff to support effective communication and successful project execution
• Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
• Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data
• Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
• Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s)
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
• Order and schedule material deliveries
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
• Supervise field operations
