Job summary

Project Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support the U.S. Coast Guard by overseeing the construction of a Child Development Center at Elizabeth City, NC.

The inspector will ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and federal standards, acting as the Government’s on-site advisor. This full-time, on-site role requires daily monitoring, documentation, and reporting of safety and quality issues, while coordinating with contractors and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school plus extensive construction/inspection experience or a 4-year degree in Engineering plus relevant experience.
• Certifications such as PE or PMP or QA/QC are valued.
• Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications; knowledge of codes is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site inspection to ensure contract document compliance.
• Review and sign daily construction reports and notify COR/PM of non-compliant work.
• Attend meetings and prepare minutes; maintain project documentation and logs.
• Monitor schedules, tests, and materials; verify as-built drawings and survey data.
• Coordinate site activities and report safety concerns to project team.
