Job summary

APPLIED OPTOELECTRONICS INC in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Facility Electrician to perform a wide range of commercial electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across the facility. Candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, at least three years in commercial/industrial electrical work, and preferably a Journeyman Electrician license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical work.
• Journeyman Electrician license preferred (expired or active).
• Experience reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and single-line diagrams.
• Ability to work with motors, panels, breakers, and lighting systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial electrical work including troubleshooting circuits, panels, lighting systems, outlets, breakers, motor controls, and equipment wiring.
• Inspect electrical rooms, distribution panels, backup power, and report repair needs.
• Maintain lighting and replace lamps/parts as needed.
• Follow SOPs to complete work orders and update statuses with management.
• Ensure compliance with NEC standards and local codes.
• Research and correct hazardous conditions and coordinate with vendors/contractors.
