Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Custodian to perform daily janitorial duties and minor repairs to keep facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained. This on-site role requires strict safety awareness and the ability to work with clients in a nonprofit setting.

You will follow a daily checklist, stock supplies, assist maintenance teams, and set up rooms for events, reporting any deficiencies to management. A high school diploma and fingerprint clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning high foot traffic areas and bathrooms.
• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Ability to work on-site daily.
• Attention to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the interior and exterior of the facility, including building, parking lot and grounds.
• Performs daily cleaning and restocks bathrooms; dusting, window cleaning, waste management and vacuuming.
• Performs minor repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, painting and refurbishing as needed.
• Sets up rooms for meetings, classes and events; monitors safety and stock levels.
• Follows daily checklist and reports deficiencies to management; ensures tools are secured.
