Job summary

VOALA, Volunteers of America Los Angeles, seeks a Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety and minor repairs across our facilities, supporting program operations and creating a welcoming environment for staff and clients.

The ideal candidate has custodial or building maintenance experience, can follow a daily checklist, and is able to pass fingerprint clearance; pay is $19.00–$20.00 per hour with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass fingerprint clearance and background checks
• Experience cleaning high-traffic areas and maintaining facilities
• Ability to read and follow safety guidelines and checklists

Responsibilities

• Maintains the facility interior and exterior, including parking lot and grounds.
• Daily cleaning of assigned areas using cleaning products.
• Restock bathrooms and manage supplies.
• Perform minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting).
• Follow daily checklist; secure tools and supplies.
• Report safety deficiencies to management.
• Set up rooms for meetings and events.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

High school diploma or GED
