Job summary

The City of Minneapolis seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to operate, maintain, and repair the Minneapolis Convention Center’s HVAC and related systems on-site. Responsibilities include diagnostics, steam system maintenance, and routine preventative tasks in a large public facility.

Minimum 3 years experience and a MN Class 2-C Boiler License are required; pre-employment checks and drug testing may apply. This is a full-time on-site role with shift differentials noted in the posting.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of post-school education, specialized training, trades apprenticeship or equivalent in HVAC control systems.
  • At least 3 years of related experience with a boiler license.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and repair HVAC units including air handlers, fan coils, valves and dampers.
  • Maintain the High-Pressure steam system for building heat and kitchen steam.
  • Provide operational diagnostics to ensure proper temperatures in occupied spaces.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment on a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly schedule.
  • Read equipment blueprints and schematics to assist operation and repair work.
