Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is seeking Project Managers for Facility Construction to lead planning, design, and execution of complex construction and infrastructure projects at NIF&PS/LMF. You will manage cross‑functional teams and serve as the technical lead for internal clients and external contractors.

This on‑site role requires a clear track record in facility construction, cost/schedule control, and collaboration across engineering, ES&H, and operations.

Qualifications

• U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting facility construction, infrastructure, retrofit, modernization, or installation projects.
• Knowledge of project delivery tools and construction contract approaches (design-build, design-bid-build).
• Experience developing or supporting project scope, cost, schedule, and risk plans.
• Experience reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and construction documentation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Strong safety focus with knowledge of OSHA and environmental health requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, execution, and closeout of facility construction and infrastructure projects.
• Serve as primary technical and project contact for internal clients, contracting offices, and contractors.
• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to align execution strategy and safety with operations.
• Track baseline scope, cost, and schedule; manage variances using formal project methods.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure codes and LLNL standards are met.
• Provide guidance to project teams and translate requirements into executable plans.
