Job summary

Loenbro is seeking an Operator Excavator in an on-site role in Afton, TX. This position supports underground utility maintenance, inspection, repair, and construction activities, performing trenching, exposure, and backfilling while adhering to project specs and safety standards.

The role requires 3+ years of excavator experience, the ability to read utility drawings, and a valid license. Strong safety focus and teamwork are essential in field operations at industrial sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience operating excavators in utility, civil construction, or underground infrastructure.
• Experience excavating around existing underground utilities.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read utility maps, blueprints, and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of excavation safety standards and trenching requirements.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators of various sizes to dig, trench, grade, and move materials.
• Safely excavate around underground utilities including water, sewer, gas, electrical, and telecom.
• Perform precision excavation in congested utility corridors and confined spaces.
• Expose utilities for inspections, repairs, rehabilitation, and replacement.
• Load trucks and assist with site prep and restoration.
• Read and interpret locates, plans, and work orders.
• Ensure trench depth and slope meet project and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with foremen, crews, inspectors, and management.
