Job summary

Naropa University’s Office of Events seeks Event Crew Technicians II and III to support performances and special events on the Arapahoe and Nalanda campuses. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down sets, lighting, sound, A/V, house management, and box office operations.

These on‑call, on‑site roles offer a flexible schedule (0–20 hours with a four‑hour minimum pay per call) and compensation of $23–$30 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months - 2 years' experience on a technical theatre crew.
• Able to work evenings and weekends.
• Comfort with event setup and tech equipment and backstage operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist or manage stage setup, room setup, backstage, green room, program timing, stage equipment, media projection.
• Hang and set up lighting instruments, rigging, pipes, and cables; test electrical equipment including dimmer packs.
• Set up A/V equipment and sound cues; lead light cues and follow design requirements under supervision.
• Manage front of house at events: box office operations, ticket sales, reconciliations, and registrations.
• Provide customer service and assist attendees; support hybrid classroom technology when needed.
• Attend trainings, crew meetings, and interviews; assist with transitions during shows.
• Load-ins, hang and focus, sound checks, rehearsals, and performances when called.
