Job summary

Blois Construction, LLC. is seeking an Estimating Engineer to support preconstruction with accurate take-offs, pricing, and bid submissions. You will collaborate with estimators, vendors, and project teams to develop detailed estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.

The role emphasizes analytical skills, reliable cost analysis, and clear communication as you assist in schedules, RFIs, and contract finalization during the bidding cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
• Proficiency in estimating software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and other cost analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong and clear communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-bid meetings, job-walks, and submit bids during bid closeouts.
• Organize and review project plans, specifications, and related documents to assist the estimator in determining the project scope.
• Develop quantity take-offs and pricing for various project components.
• Assist the estimator in developing schedules and formulating RFIs during bidding.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability of materials.
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Maintain organization of quote requests, receipts, and contacts in the quote system.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Support post-bid negotiations and contract finalization.
