Job summary

Eastern Research Group (ERG) seeks a Junior Air Sensors Scientist / Environmental Monitoring Specialist to assist EPA research and development in air quality monitoring, particulate matter measurements, and environmental data analysis. This on-site role involves lab, field work, and collaboration across science and engineering teams.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0–5 years’ experience, with exposure to R, Python, MATLAB, or Excel, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience or internships.
• Interest in air quality monitoring and environmental sensors.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with data analysis tools (R, Python, MATLAB) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support air quality monitoring and environmental sensor evaluations.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments.
• Assist with field measurements and monitoring campaigns.
• Collect, organize, and review environmental data for QA/QC.
• Prepare technical reports and data summaries.
