Job summary

Gentex Corporation in Ottawa, IL seeks an Embedded Software Engineer II to design, develop, test and debug software for cameras, SoCs, sensors and related drivers. You will participate in code reviews, plan tasks, and mentor junior engineers in an on-site role.

Responsibilities include full development lifecycle, collaborating with Hardware, Mechanical, Product, and Systems teams, and contributing to process improvements and compliance activities while delivering robust embedded solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 2+ years of technical experience in all phases of software development lifecycle.
• Detailed, current knowledge of electronics components and systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute full development lifecycle including requirements analysis, software architecture, design, unit and integration testing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Hardware, Mechanical, Product, Software Project Engineering and System Engineering.
• Help design and implement new features for embedded platforms, including bringing up cameras, SoCs, sensors, chipsets and drivers.
• Participate in code reviews, estimation and planning meetings.
• Mentor junior team members and assist in recruiting as required.
