Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to design and implement software for embedded platforms, including cameras, SoCs, sensors, and driver development. This on-site role requires collaboration across hardware, mechanical, product, and system engineering teams.

You will contribute to the full development lifecycle, participate in reviews, and assist in recruiting while mentoring junior engineers. A strong background in C/C++ and RTOS is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of technical experience in software development lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of electronics components and systems.
• High proficiency in C, C++ and real-time operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute full software development lifecycle from requirements to verification.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Mechanical, Product, and System Engineering teams.
• Develop drivers and features for embedded platforms including cameras, SoCs, sensors, and chipsets.
• Participate in code reviews, estimation, and planning meetings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
