Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a junior to mid level embedded software developer to contribute to government systems on-site at NSWCDD.

You will write firmware for microcontrollers, develop embedded software for new and existing systems, and collaborate with the government team to field product capabilities. You should have 3–5 years of embedded experience, proficiency in C, and familiarity with C#, Git, and debugging tools.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C.
• Experience with git.
• Experience with hardware debugging and related tools.
• Knowledge of embedded software development for hardware and microcontrollers.
• Ability to work on-site at NSWCDD and in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Coding embedded microcontrollers.
• Develop embedded software for new and existing systems.
• Write firmware to run on specified microcontrollers.
• This functionality can range from making a device more robust to adding user desired functionality to adding support for a new set of hardware (GNSS engine, satellite transceiver, etc.).
• Updating or writing tools to be able to configure newly updated devices.
• Support testing and assessment of embedded systems locally and at external locations.
• Utilize software development best practices within government development processes.
• Identify and incorporate the latest hardware, technology, and techniques in this rapidly evolving environment.
• Routinely collaborate with the government team through regularly scheduled meetings on-site.
