Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking an Appliance Mechanic for the Fort Carson, CO location. This non-exempt position requires maintenance and repair of building electrical systems, with a focus on electrical and HVAC trades.

Responsibilities include wiring, switches, fixtures, motors, and assisting HVAC technicians, with on-site work across buildings and mechanical rooms. Travel up to 25% may be required; background check and valid driver’s license are prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in Electrical and/or utility trades.
• Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
• Must complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
• Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
• Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to perform on-call duties and report within required timeframe.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Replacing and repairing wires, switches, fixtures, motors, pumps, boilers, and other duties while assisting HVAC Technicians with daily duties.
• Work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and other areas to perform routine maintenance.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
