Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Electrical Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. The role leads on-site electrical systems, coordinating with design, construction and commissioning teams to resolve field issues and ensure safe, efficient delivery.

Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in relevant roles, or 5+ years on hyperscale data center projects. Competitive benefits and a strong health/retirement package are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years in electrical design, construction, operations or commissioning; or 5+ years for hyperscale data centers.
• Experience with substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, MV/LV distribution, protective relaying.
• Familiar with electrical codes, standards and testing requirements.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to safely work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-site representative for electrical systems.
• Support construction activities involving MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, grounding and controls.
• Conduct daily field observations for quality, safety and progress.
• Coordinate design issues and field modifications with engineering teams.
• Facilitate RFIs, submittals and equipment substitutions.
• Support BIM coordination and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Monitor installation for compliance with drawings and specs.
• Identify deficiencies, schedule risks and installation concerns.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, energization planning and startup support.
• Collaborate with commissioning, QA/QC and Owner teams for successful implementation.
• Prepare weekly site observation reports and technical recommendations; participate in project meetings.
