Job summary

SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP in Bastrop, TX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to uphold OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance while supporting manufacturing goals. You will perform on-site safety oversight, conduct risk assessments, manage hazardous waste, and collaborate with EHS engineers to investigate incidents and improve safety programs. Relocation may be required for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate (required).
• At least 2+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform boots-on-the-ground safety oversight by identifying and correcting workplace hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Monitor employee exposure to job and chemical hazards per OSHA limits.
• Assist in implementing and complying with site-specific safety policies.
• Assist in creating job hazard analyses and PPE assessments.
• Conduct safety surveys to ensure proper PPE use and safe work practices.
• Ensure notification and corrective actions for any unsafe conditions at the site.
• Assist EHS engineers in accident investigations when necessary.
• Assist in hazardous waste handling, storage and disposal per RCRA requirements.
