Job summary

Base seeks an EHS Technician to lead safety programs on the floor and in the field across Austin and beyond. You will own regulatory compliance, incident response, and program management, collaborating with engineers and production leads to drive a strong safety culture.

The role requires hands-on experience with hazardous waste, inspections, and training, plus a valid Texas driver’s license. On-site work with a startup environment where priorities evolve as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or field operations environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, RCRA hazardous waste requirements, and EPA/TCEQ regulations.
• Electrical experience required; familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage systems or NFPA 855 is a plus.
• Hands-on track record in hazardous waste management, emergency response, and exposure monitoring; clear communicator with crews/leadership.
• Forklift-certified (or obtainable within 30 days); valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day OSHA, TCEQ, RCRA, EPA, and DOT compliance across our facility and job sites inspections, corrective actions, and program management.
• Provide active floor and field presence: identify hazards, coach safe behaviors, deliver training, and build a safety culture that works on the line, not just on paper.
• Manage the full RCRA hazardous waste program storage, labeling, satellite accumulation, drum logs, and coordination with disposal contractors.
• Respond to EHS incidents and emergencies: activate procedures, collect preliminary findings, and support root cause investigations.
• Support air permit, SWPPP, and SPCC inspection cycles; develop JHAs and PPE assessments; maintain EHS documentation and databases.
