Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking an EHS & S Manager to own the full Environmental, Health, Safety & Security function at the Houston manufacturing facility. You will drive OSHA compliance, environmental programs, and security, collaborating with plant leadership and corporate HSE to foster a proactive safety culture.

The role focuses on electrical safety, hazard analyses, incident investigations, and maintaining regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial settings, with at least 2 years in leadership/managerial roles.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry standards, including electrical safety, LOTO, and crane/material handling requirements.
• Experience developing and leading physical security programs or ability to assume that responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and hold cross-functional teams to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental, Health & Safety Program leadership for the Houston facility, ensuring OSHA and EPA/TCEQ compliance.
• Own facility safety programs including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, crane safety, hot work, and PPE.
• Manage safe handling and spill response for transformer dielectric fluids and other regulated fluids.
• Conduct JHAs and ensure controls are implemented; lead safety inspections and drive continuous improvement.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective/preventive actions; maintain OSHA records.
• Maintain environmental compliance including air, water, waste, storage regulations; permits and reporting.
• Develop and deliver HSE training and build a strong site-wide safety culture.
• Manage physical security: access control, badges, visitor management, CCTV; coordinate with law enforcement.
• Develop Emergency Action Plan and coordinate drills; maintain relationships with local emergency services.
• Report on EHS performance and budget; interface with leadership and regulators.
