Job summary

Alston Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to meet profit goals while enhancing client relationships and the company’s image. You'll lead project teams, review contract documents, coordinate MEP scopes, manage subcontractors, maintain master schedules, and communicate with clients to resolve design and billing questions.

Job location is Springfield, IL with on-site work and travel as needed; requires 10+ years

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience successfully managing construction projects for a general contractor, including 3–5 years on mission critical projects.
• Advanced knowledge of MEP construction principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while achieving profit goals.
• Review contract documents for conflicts and interpretation issues to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
• Lead and mentor project team members and coordinate with management on staffing and development needs.
• Coordinate MEP-intensive scopes with attention to redundancy, power reliability, and cooling systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed master project schedules and provide timely reports to track progress.
