Job summary

BD, a leading global medical technology company, is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety professional to serve as deputy EHS Leader on-site in CT. You will drive root-cause analyses, lead safety initiatives, and partner with operations to implement machine guarding and LOTO programs.

You'll collaborate across teams, influence site culture, and represent the facility in interactions with regulators and insurers.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering, EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical or Electrical Eng. or equivalent (preferred).
• 3 years experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Has or pursuing an auditing certification.

Responsibilities

• Be at the center of all Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives on-site.
• Serve as deputy EHS Leader and stand-in for the EHS Leader.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations to prevent recurrence.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert within the EHS Team.
• Contribute to new equipment project teams as the EHS expert.
• Lead site safety and sustainability campaigns and culture-building.
• Represent the site with regulators and insurers on EHS topics.
• Maintain and grow expertise in Machine Guarding and LOTO.
