Job summary

Trace3 is seeking a System Administrator II for our Federal/State/Local practice in the Baltimore area. This is a 6‑month W2 contract with strong potential for extension or conversion to full-time, and eligibility to obtain government clearance.

The role is fully on-site in the Baltimore/Annapolis Junction region, with three nearby office locations. You will manage Windows and Linux servers, support virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and assist with security controls and compliance in regulated

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on system administration experience supporting Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Experience in DoD or government environments preferred.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, CMMC, or FedRAMP.
• Active security clearance eligibility or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced system administration and maintenance for government clients.
• Support on-premises and cloud environments with emphasis on security and compliance.
• Perform patching, backups, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and network teams for uptime and mission goals.
