Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for a fast-paced Defense Sector program in Virginia. The ISSO will oversee the cybersecurity posture of DoD information systems, develop security policies, perform risk assessments, and manage RMF accreditation with continuous monitoring.

This on-site role requires active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree + 4+ years or Master’s + 2+ years.
• Knowledge of DoD policies and frameworks (NIST 800-53, RMF, FISMA, JSIG).
• Experience with cloud computing and ATO for cloud systems.
• DoD 8140 Intermediate certification (e.g., Cloud+, Security+).
• Experience with risk management and vulnerability assessments.
• Strong network security understanding and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ISSM to provide cybersecurity guidance and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation for DoD compliance.
• Oversee the security posture of DoD information systems to meet confidentiality, integrity, and availability requirements.
• Perform risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and security audits with remediation strategies.
• Manage continuous monitoring of security controls and protection of data.
• Coordinate with engineering, IT, and operations to enforce security protocols and best practices.
• Ensure RMF accreditation is maintained in compliance with requirements.
• Act as the primary security contact for incident response and reporting to leadership.
