Job summary

The H-J Family of Companies in High Ridge, MO seeks a Design Project Engineer to collaborate with Engineering, Production and Maintenance to design machinery, tooling and fixtures that improve safety and throughput.

The ideal candidate will have a technical engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or related), hands-on problem solving ability, and experience with SolidWorks (AutoCAD helpful) and 3D CAD drawings. This is a fully on-site role with relocation/visa not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks preferred; AutoCAD is beneficial.
• Experience creating manufacturing and assembly drawings from 3D models.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, automation and project management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across departments in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machinery, equipment, tooling and fixtures to improve safety and throughput.
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings and document technical details.
• Manage projects from concept through fabrication, installation and implementation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Maintenance to address operational challenges.
• Communicate project requirements, plans, and milestones across teams.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes and technical information.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, testing and implementation.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure on-schedule completion.
