Job summary

StratasCorp seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Security Operations Center in Chesapeake, VA. The on-site role focuses on threat detection, incident response, and security engineering to strengthen the customer’s enterprise network.

The engineer will implement SIEM/IDS/IPS solutions, mentor junior analysts, and collaborate with SOC and NOC teams to advance detection capabilities and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related technical field.
• Active Secret clearance.
• 5+ years of full-time professional experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, threat detection, or incident response.
• Current Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140-aligned qualification at IAT Level II.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, monitoring, threat detection, and incident response processes.
• Ability to analyze security events, identify root causes, and implement mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Support daily SOC operations including continuous security monitoring, threat detection, incident analysis and response.
• Identify, investigate, and analyze potential cybersecurity threats and suspicious activity.
• Lead and mentor junior analysts in incident investigation and escalation procedures.
• Develop and tune SIEM rules, correlation logic, alerts, and dashboards to improve detection.
• Coordinate with the Cyber Incident and Event Management team during incidents and escalations.
• Collaborate with NOC personnel to align cybersecurity operations with program objectives.
