Job summary

StratasCorp Technologies seeks an SOC Analyst – Cyber Threat Hunter to monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats targeting the MSC network. You will use IDS/IPS, SIEM, and packet-capture tools to detect, investigate, and mitigate security incidents in real time.

This on-site role in Chesapeake, Virginia requires an active Secret clearance and collaboration with CSSP operations to sustain a strong defensive posture across critical military network assets.

Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+ Certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, network security, intrusion detection, and intrusion prevention.
• Ability to analyze security alerts, network traffic, and log data to identify suspicious activity.
• Familiarity with network protocols, packet capture analysis, and common monitoring techniques.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to recognize unusual patterns in network activity.
• Ability to document technical findings clearly and communicate security concerns effectively.
• Ability to work on-site in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day CSSP intrusion detection and prevention operations.
• Conduct real-time monitoring and analysis of security alerts, network sessions, data, and packet captures to identify threats.
• Operate and monitor IDS/IPS, network traffic analysis, and packet capture tools.
• Monitor SIEM platforms and CSSP tools for anomalous behavior and indicators of compromise.
• Examine and triage security alerts to determine severity and impact.
• Identify patterns of malicious activity and support proactive threat-hunting efforts.
• Analyze network traffic, packet captures, and logs to investigate suspicious activity.
• Use tools like Wireshark, WinDump, TCPDump for packet capture and analysis.
• Correlate data from multiple sources to identify attack patterns and support investigations.
• Document findings and escalate confirmed threats per procedures.
• Support threat indicators identification and vulnerability assessment affecting MSC network.
