Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for an on-site role focused on testing and inspecting fabricated steel assemblies. The position requires reading drawings, documenting processes, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Relocation assistance is available and day/night shifts are offered in a four-day work week format with 10-hour days. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience and AWS CWI certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS CWI Certification with at least three years of experience in manufacturing, construction, defense, marine, or aerospace.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings or blueprints.
• Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to produce reports in desired formats.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite testing and inspection of fabricated steel assemblies.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings for welds and structures.
• Conduct daily floor inspections and document all manufacturing processes (cutting, punching, shearing, stamping, notching, welding, painting).
• Work with GMAW Spray Transfer welding process; ensure compliance with standards.
• Utilize PPE supplied by the company and maintain inspection records.
• Maintain daily inspection logs and report findings.
• Identify cracks, corrosion, or defects that affect structural integrity.
• Experience with Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Visual, and Ultrasonic inspections (NDI) preferred.
