Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a credentialing specialist to manage physician and ancillary staff credentialing, maintain provider data, and safeguard confidential information. You will coordinate communications with external agencies and internal departments to ensure quality of care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Bachelors degree preferred; experience in medical staff services or CPMSM/CPCS in lieu of degree.
• Three years of medical staff services/credentialing experience preferred.
• CPMSM and/or CPCS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; effective meeting management.
• Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate meeting times.
• Recent experience in a Medical Staff Office preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate the credentialing and privileging of physicians and ancillary staff.
• Maintains credentialing software database with provider information.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information regarding the Medical Staff, proceedings, and actions.
• Communicates with outside agencies and departments to obtain or share credential data.
• Interacts with other departments to integrate quality of care issues into credentialing.
• Facilitates and attends medical staff meetings and handles logistics.
