Job summary

Piedmont Door Solutions – a Cobalt Service Partners Company in Charlotte, NC, seeks a hands-on Controller to build and lead the accounting function across multiple branches. The role requires rapid assessment, disciplined processes, and the ability to work side-by-side with the team, driving a scalable operation from the ground up.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting, oversee month-end close, and partner with leadership on FP&A-style reporting while integrating

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 7–15 years of progressive accounting experience in multi-location/PE-backed environments.
• Strong NetSuite expertise required.
• Background in manufacturing or field/industrial services preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to stabilize and scale an accounting function.
• Player-coach mentality: lead and hands-on.
• Solid GAAP knowledge; job costing & multi-location P&L experience a plus.
• Tech-forward mindset with automation & process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting across multi-branch operation and drive month-end close.
• Assess current practices, identify gaps, implement structured controls.
• Provide direction to accounting staff; coach and develop team.
• Perform hands-on accounting work as needed in a fast-paced setting.
• Design scalable processes across branches and move toward shared services.
