Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent to run day-to-day operations on the construction site in Richmond, VA. You will lead subcontractors, manage suppliers, monitor costs, and control project schedules with a strong focus on safety and productivity.

You should have journeyman-level experience, deep knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, and the ability to interpret plans, read technical data, and coordinate with project supervision to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, administrative and analytical skills.
• At least journeyman-level industry experience, including supervisory experience.
• Extensive knowledge of International Codes and general HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Demonstrate foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions.
• Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and read technical data.
• Ability to coordinate with internal and external customers and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise and coordinate the work activities of assigned trade/craft workers and assign duties.
• Follow project directions and allocate workers accordingly.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for installation areas.
• Review and release shop drawings and spool drawings for timely field installation.
• Inspect work in process and completed work for conformance to specs.
• Schedule materials and equipment deliveries to maintain the project schedule.
• Attend project meetings and complete daily reports with photos and documents.
• Teach, coach and guide teammates to work safely and productively.
