Job summary

Santa Claran is seeking a Construction Safety Officer to oversee the on-site safety program for USACE contracts. The SSHO enforces safety requirements, conducts safety orientations, and leads toolbox talks to maintain a safe work environment during construction.

The role requires 5+ years in construction safety and certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, CSP or ASP. EM 385-1-1 knowledge is essential for project compliance and successful execution.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• Minimum 3 years serving as SSHO on USACE or federal projects preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
• Enforce safety requirements and stop unsafe work when needed.
• Maintain safety documentation and project safety files.
• Lead safety meetings and daily pre-task briefings.
• Coordinate training such as Fall Protection, Excavation & Trenching, Confined space.
