Job summary

RQC, LLC is seeking a Construction Site Safety Officer (SSHO) for military projects in the Norfolk, VA area. The SSHO will plan, implement and enforce safety requirements on-site in accordance with EM-385, OSHA and our APP, coordinating with the project team to ensure safe production of quality work.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of safety leadership in commercial construction, competent person training, and current CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30-hour.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of construction safety leadership at the jobsite level.
• Competent person training in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical, Trenching/Excavation, PPE, and Scaffolding.
• Five+ years of safety training totals (average 24 hours per year).
• Current CPR, First Aid and OSHA 30-hour within past 5 years.
• NAVFAC/USACE experience preferred.
• Strong computer literacy and safety documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, organize, implement and execute safety requirements for the project.
• Integrate with the project team to support safe production of quality work.
• Oversee daily safety activities and reporting for direct reports.
• Ensure compliance with EM-385 and OSHA standards and the APP.
