Job summary

AECOM Hunt in Cleveland, OH is seeking a seasoned Construction Safety professional to lead and enforce safety programs on major infrastructure projects. You will conduct site inspections, enforce OSHA standards, and train workers to ensure incidents are prevented and properly documented.

You will collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to integrate safety into planning and execution, maintain records, and act as on-site safety lead, driving best practices across a busy construction site.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Occupational Safety or relevant curriculum and 4 years of construction safety experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; CSP, CHST, or similar certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with OCIP and CCIP.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety programs and policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters on-site.
