Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field, plus 1 year of related construction safety experience or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations
• Familiar with general construction operations
• Ability to identify safety-related exposures and propose corrective actions
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take direction and follow through with commitments
• Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Analytical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with enforcement and adherence of EH&S policies and risk management procedures on construction projects
• Assist with providing training for safe work practices and safety programs
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and owner requirements
• Review subcontractor training per OSHA standards
• Promote safe work practices and working conditions following regulations
• Assist with drug screening program administration (pre-employment, post-accident, random)
• Assist with preconstruction meetings coordination
• Assist with worker orientation program administration and participation tracking
• Gather Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for contractors
• Maintain safety records (PTPs, JHAs, training, OSHA logs, MSDS)
• Conduct Safety meetings and record meeting minutes
• Maintain log of subcontractor toolbox safety meetings and report summaries
• Conduct site safety audits and inspections with corrective action recommendations
• Identify and report safety violations or imminent danger situations
• Assist with other activities and duties as assigned
