Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer for a traveling, full-time onsite role on active commercial construction projects in the Chicago area. The position requires 1+ years of project engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is preferred.

You will support the Project Manager and Superintendent, manage submittals, RFIs, changes, and schedules, and coordinate with subcontractors from the project site.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of project engineer experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore or similar construction software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project operations.
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, project documentation, and schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Track project progress, materials, and documentation.
• Attend project meetings and assist with maintaining project schedules.
• Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget per plans and specs.
