Job summary

Planate Management Group (PMG) is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the VA Hospital Grand Junction. You will provide construction oversight, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and coordinate between construction activities and facility occupants on-site in Grand Junction, CO.

Responsibilities include leading quality inspections, reviewing submittals, enforcing safety and codes, and supporting design input for constructability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of civil/construction management work experience, preferably healthcare or hospital facilities.
• Previous experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable in construction scheduling methods and in building and construction crafts.
• Good English communication both written and oral.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office suites.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship in construction work and the documentation and inspection of construction quality.
• Monitor the means and methods of the construction contractor, providing oversight and direction to ensure compliance with contractual, safety and quality requirements.
• Review contractor submittals for compliance, provide approval and/or guidance to the government.
• Perform field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used and verify quality of workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with the design, specifications, standards and applicable codes and regulations.
• Identify and track deficiencies and deviations from plans; work with the construction team to mitigate and resolve.
• Review and implement construction safety and quality programs, ensure health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Review project plans and specifications for technical soundness and determine practicability from a construction management standpoint.
• Provide design input and oversight related to constructability and other engineering disciplines.
