Job summary

G-Net Construction in Staten Island is seeking an in-office, part-time Building Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. You will review drawings, prepare estimates, coordinate subcontractor pricing, and help manage awarded projects from startup through completion.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of estimating or project management in commercial interiors or facilities, with strong communication, organization, and the ability to work independently with office and field staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of building construction estimating and/or project management experience.
• Experience with estimating and takeoffs across multiple trades and commercial interiors.
• Proficient with PlanSwift or similar estimating software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Valid NYS driver's license and own transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to work legally and strictly on the books.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, RFPs, and project requirements.
• Prepare complete construction estimates and quantity takeoffs.
• Perform takeoffs using PlanSwift.
• Obtain and compare subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Review subcontractor proposals for scope, accuracy, and completeness.
• Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns.
• Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and field surveys.
• Manage awarded projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, materials, and project schedules.
• Attend project meetings and prepare follow-up items.
• Visit job sites to review progress and field conditions.
• Coordinate with field supervisors regarding manpower, materials, scheduling.
• Communicate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and office staff.
• Identify project issues before they affect cost or schedule.
