Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Superintendent to serve as on-site representative and primary contact for construction activities in the South Central region. You will coordinate scheduling, material control, and field direction to ensure safe, efficient operations across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

The role emphasizes leadership in safety, cost control, and quality across grading crews, with opportunities to relocate based on project needs and work locations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role managing multiple grading crews at a time.
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management and fellow employees.

Responsibilities

• Assists the project team by providing input to identify key success factors, timing of design and procurement deliverables, and establishing common work breakdown.
• Provides leadership to create organizational structure and processes to execute services, responsible for execution of work, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction cost.
• Evaluates execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality; advises on status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on scope going forward.
• Monitors safety orientations and indoctrinations, provides coaching for improvement.
• Monitors crew structure, sizing, crew mix ratios, and wage compliance.
• Reviews and monitors cost and man-hour budget for installation process and develops a staffing/equipment plan.
• Direct knowledge in roads, highways, and bridges, including Maintenance of Traffic, Erosion Control and Safety Training.
