Valiance Capital in Berkeley seeks a Community Assistant – Co-Living to support resident services and operations at UC Berkeley housing. You will be the on-site representative for an assigned house, maintain upkeep and culture, and ensure tour-readiness for leasing teams.

This entry-level role offers hands-on exposure to property management and student housing operations, with collaboration across Marketing, Leasing, and Facilities to drive renewals and a positive living environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the assigned house to monitor cleanliness, organization, and overall condition of common areas.
• Audit, organize, and replenish house supplies and submit restock requests in a timely manner.
• Perform light cleaning of common areas as needed to maintain standards between professional cleanings.
• Identify maintenance issues proactively and submit work orders, escalating urgent items when necessary.
• Ensure shared spaces are presentable and welcoming for residents and prospective tours.
• Maintain a consistent on-site presence, interact with residents, and remain accessible.
• Plan and execute regular resident events to foster connection and community.
• Encourage participation in events and house culture to support renewals and reputation.
• Serve as a primary contact for residents and address concerns, escalating when needed.
• Mediate conflicts and promote a respectful living environment within the house.
• Understand safety policies, report hazards, and assist with after-hours maintenance as scheduled.
• Ensure turnover readiness and support leasing-focused activities, including renewals.
• Coordinate with leasing, marketing, and facilities teams to support showings and turnovers.
• Document property condition during turnover and report damages or deficiencies promptly.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the house via campus outreach and events.
• Assist with administrative duties and ensure the workspace is stocked and organized.
• Be available for structured shifts, including evenings and weekends as scheduled.
